LAX/PHL Group Show opens this Saturday!

I'm in a few shows opening this May! Have been working on some pieces all winter for them. You can see the flyers below. In the Studio + Etsy Shop

Took a bit of time for me to finally go about setting one up, but I've finally signed on for Etsy this month. I have plans to set up something with Big Cartel as well, but for the time being anyone interested in my work is welcome to check it out - I have just originals for sale at the moment, but will be putting up commercial products where I can, along with drawings and other small paintings every couple weeks or so ~ https://www.etsy.com/people/sarahjoncas?ref=si_pr

Also, I've been working quite a lot in the studio lately (more than my usual). Though I can't share much yet on the work I have underway for shows in the Spring, here's a few sneaks of a commission I'm working along, along with a small 'experimental' works. I've been taking nights here and there to just have fun with acrylic and do some cartooning type work. The one is a 'Perfect Blue' fan piece, and the other inspired by the art of Ralph Steadman.

I've been featured this morning on the 'Scribble project' blog! Was good fun taking part in this - there's plenty of other great artist features on it too, if you scroll through the whole thing. The blogger gives each person a choice of 4 templates and they fill it in with whatever they please. Kind of a doodle interview ~

The Prisma Art Collective I'm involved with has a exhibition called 'The Animal in Me' opening at the Subtext Gallery in San Diego on February 15th. Last Rites Interview!

While I was out in New York earlier this month, I decided to do a video interview with the Last Rites Gallery! I was the 1st of many to come in this new interview series they're conducting with the artists who show at their space. Taking Over - Opening night and Final pieces

I got back from NYC a little over a week ago now. Had a great tme in the city walking around and seeing everything, and thoroughly enjoyed the opening night of my show at the Last Rites Gallery. For anyone still interested in seeing the work, it'll be up on display till Jan12th at the gallery. Final teasers + Taking Over + Interview

Only a couple days to go before I head out to NYC for my solo show 'Taking Over'! Opening night is on December 8th, from 7-11pm. I wanted to share the last of my teasers images, along with the release of a couple final images from the show. There's also been some good coverage of the preview on Hi-Fructose and Arrested Motion the past week.

Info on the two paintings below:
'Ecdysis', 10x14", oil on canvas and 'Skin Deep', 14x18" oil on canvas.

The last final mention I have is about a video interview I'll be taking part in with the Last Rites Gallery. This is the 1st of many to come for the gallery, so I am both honoured and exceptionally nervous, haha. The gallery would like to initiate a contest for the interview, as well - anyone with questions they'd like to ask me can submit them in the comments to this FB link! The gallery will then choose one of the questions to be included in the video interview. All submissions must be received before December 7th, however.

Thanks so much! Looking forward to celebrating the show and meeting everyone at the opening! :D

Well, the time is finally drawing near! I've been working diligently the past 5 months on a new body of work! I have a solo show coming up next month at the Last Rites Gallery in New York City -- will have about 15 new pieces for show and sale. The exhibit will be opening on December 8th and run till January 12th. Will be making the trip out there to attend the opening, as well :D

I've made up a makeshift ad for the show at the moment until I'm able to get my hands on the official one.

Up-coming shows and new work

I'm in an up-coming group show at Fine Grime in the UK, opening this Friday! The Prisma Collective, who I'm involved with, has come together for their second exhibit titled 'Milk'. You can find more details about the show through the postcard below. I'll be sharing my piece in the coming days!

'Bad Dads II' and 'I am 8-bit'

I have a couple more unusual shows for me coming up this month -- two large group themed exhibits. Bad Dads II opens at Spoke Art in San Fran on Oct 26th -- a Wes Anderson themed show. The other a video game inspired show called 'I am 8-bit' opening at Gallery 1988 in Venice, also on the 26th. Here's some sneaks of my pieces in progress -- don't think I need to explain who the characters are...

New work in Progress + Interview in Tattoofest

Been awhile since I posted, got a new computer recently and had to re-setup everything. Now that all is back in order, there are a few things to share though. I have an interview this month in Polish magazine 'Tattoofest'. The magazine prints in Poland and Russia, so if I have any fans out that way, keep on the look out - it should be on stands in the coming weeks.

I also finished up a commission recently, been enjoying posting the 1st and last layers together for people to see the difference. Called this one 'Emerald Queen', 12x16" oil on canvas. The 1st image is the inital layer in acrylic I do to block out my colours and the last is about 2-3months of oil layers.

And lastly, I am working very diligently towards my big solo show in December at the Last Rites gallery. Have about 15 new paintings on the go. I am also taking part in a few group shows this fall that I'll be sharing about soon!
