Sour Hearts and LA Photos ^__^

Los Angeles was so good to me!
Actually - knowing that school was awaiting my attention upon instant arrival, I would have really preferred to stay a little longer, haha. I would certainly miss my family though, so it's good to let things come and pass ^__^

Big thanks to everyone who came out for the show to support Camilla and I, not to mention all the people who made our stay even more friendly and comfortable ~ Andrew, LC, Shawn, and David! I had an absolute wonderful time ^__^

Gotta say, seeing all the artwork at the various galleries was certainly a highlight to my visit -- jpegs and magazines just don't do them justice! Was also cool to just meet people I exchange with online all the time ~ start feeling a little more human. The plane ride was also stupendous! By the time I got up there, I was actually hoping for a little turbulent action, haha. The landscape was so beautiful too -- I got to see the rockies , the grand canyon and various other wonders. One day I'll do the road trip and see it all up close : D
Well, I've posted various photos I took as well as some I stole from Thinkspace and Vinyl Pulse. If you'd like to see more, just check out the gallery site. I think Camilla will be posting picks on her blog sometime soonish as well?

In the next week, I'll also update my journal with progress shots and details of some of the works from the show. If you'd just like to see the works, check out my gallery website as I got those up yesterday ~

Ya, that seems to be the consensus -- just about everyone I talked with at the show started off saying that, haha. It used to bother me, but I've come to just let it be (the girls, I mean) ^__^

it bothers me too (not your art, but mine cuz i'm pretty much a self portrait artist) but i think i'm becoming selfish though some ppl think that i use me because i prolly worship myself when that's not the point at all cuz i don't even have a huge ego or anything, it's moronic how they do comments and act like they know more about your art and you than your ownself

the way you handled the front wall installation was especially stunning.

Hey there, Audrey!

This is too awesome and ironic! Hopefully it doesn't sound strange, but I was actually thinking about you and your artwork this morning. I was lucky to get to see some of your paintings in person (via Andrews incredible gallery-of-a-house) while I was out in LA, and, honestly, it was a major highlight to my trip!

Always feel the desire to connect and talk with other artists, but I have such a hard time gaining the confidence to do so... So, thank you for taking the time to say hi and give all the kind words! I love your work and your care, the other artwork you highlight on your blog... Would definitely be beyond wicked-awesome to meet you one day ^__^

Well, though I doubt I need to wish you good luck, it's always pleasant to hear ~ all the best with your next big solo! The new progess work you posted is looking lovely ~
